On the 20th of June 2020, the most anticipated Russian festival – Rock on Volga – will make a triumphant return! The festival, which has become a signature of Samara Region, comes to live again to take a larger scale and surpass the wildest expectations.
Rock on Volga has become a new bright spot on the world's show business map in a short span of time, having outnumbered such popular festivals as Glastonbury, Rock Am Ring, and Nova Rock Festival. The lead singer of The Garbage Shirley Manson said: "It is even cooler than the English Glastonbury!".
More than 1.6 million people visited the festival over 5 years. In 2013, the German band Rammstein headlined Rock on Volga, and the festival itself brought together a record-breaking number of visitors – 692,000 people, becoming the biggest one-day festival of Europe!
Rock on Volga will gather the best Russian and international performers to prove its leadership among the music festivals yet another time. The experience of the previous years will be considered and the best experts of Russia and Europe will be involved to organize the festival. Rock on Volga is coming back to set the new records!
More details are coming soon, and for now please save the date – June 20, 2020.
Over a period of several years, I have received requests to organize Rock on Volga again. Of course, the idea to revive this event has been around for a long time, in course of 5 years it has become our tradition to meet at the best rock festival of Europe in June. That's why, when I returned to the region, I started to take necessary steps to bring the festival back, which, I am convinced, not only I have a lot of memories about. And today I may confidently make a statement that the efforts were crowned with success – there shall be Rock on Volga!
The renewed festival Rock on Volga will impress with its scale and will take place in several locations at once with Samara Arena being the main one. The music performances will be broadcast live on the screens in the large cities of Russia to give everyone an opportunity to join the country's main music event. In Samara, it will be broadcast at Kuybyshev Square.
